About Us

Soundsnap is a leader in sound effects, music and AI tools for audio and video creators. Our website is used by a million users each month including by companies such as Disney, Apple, BBC, Pixar, Ogilvy and HBO.

Join our small, agile team as an experienced PHP Developer, where you can significantly contribute to the growth and optimization of Soundsnap.om. We're looking for a versatile generalist with a passion for developing server-side PHP systems and at least 8 years of experience. If you want a hands-on role driving product evolution, developing integrations, and supporting front-end development we’re eager to connect with you!

What You'll Do

  • Develop and deploy new audio and AI features while improving existing functionalities.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot issues within our systems, proposing effective solutions.
  • Support our Google Cloud serverless infrastructure, including basic CI/CD practices.

Job requirements

Key Qualifications

  • Proficiency in coding with PHP (v8), including writing supportive tests, using the Linux command line, and developing RESTful APIs for both internal and external third-party systems.
  • Experience with production-level code and deployments.
  • Ability to work within the CET timezone (+/- 2 hours) and comfortably work remotely.
  • Backend expertise: PostgreSQL (relational & NoSQL).
  • Additional beneficial skills include: GitHub Actions, front-end fundamentals (HTML, CSS, JS, Vue.js), and third-party API integrations for payment, billing, or data processing. Experience with Google Cloud Serverless environments and Google/S3 storage solutions is a plus.

Education

  • BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in relevant skills.
